Sun Hill Star?
The Green Guide - The Age, 8th February 2001
by Brian Courtis
SO much for that "strict" Logies embargo. The news that the ABC's Shaun
Micallef had won the once-coveted role as host of the April television
awards show was all over the place at the weekend, with Daryl Somers, Bert
Newton, Andrew Denton and others snapping up the papers and suffering attacks
of the vapors in their disbelief. Well, maybe that last bit is an exaggeration,
but it was a surprise, wasn't it? What is yet to be announced is whether
the Logies organisers have managed to secure all the overseas stars they're
chasing for the show. Top of the list, we hear, is British actor Chris
Ellison, who played the crusty detective Frank Burnside in The Bill and
the soon-to-be-seen-here spin-off series Burnside.
