International Burnside Day 2002 - 22/12/02

Eeek! All this end of year and Christmas pallaver has led us to celebrate IBD Day on the quiet this year. So instead of television chat show appearances, skywriting, and jumping from the Harbour Bridge wearing a tie and nothing else in order to spread the Burnside news as we had planned, we decided to spend the day 'being' Frank.

Trying to find parking in the mega-shopping centre wasn't just unfortunate - it was a bloody disaster! I informed my Nanna that her gift of an Oasis CD was about as much use to me as a one-legged man in an arse-kicking competition. Not for one moment did I give a toss about pushing in front of Gramps at the Post Office. I dropped "You're nicked!" here and shouted "You Slag!" there, tried to flush an unhelpful shopkeeper's head down the bog, and generally made myself as unwelcome as a fart in a spacesuit everywhere I went.

The day finished on a high note. "Charge her with possession of an offensive mouth", said the nice constable as I was strong-armed into the back of a paddy wagon. Sweet.

Other IBD 2002 hijinks so far include our Fearless leader tying 27 mini-munchkins to their chairs with bad ties while she got on with important pre-Chrissy stuff, Agent 14 going undercover at The Age to spread the word to the Melbourne masses, and Agent 8 planning a world tour of her, er, his Spanish dancing extravaganza to be sponsored by us here at The Burnside Files.

Oh yes, and Happy Birthday to Chris for the 16th and Merry International Burnside Day 2002 to you, our fabulous FBI Agents and all Burnside fans everywhere.
